
As you might have already read in our post about Renegade San Francisco, we are headed to the left coast again! We’ll be on your side of the country for two weekends in a row! This is our first time selling our wares at the Los Angeles Renegade Craft Fair, however if it is anything like the others – I am sure it won’t disappoint. Hope to see you there!
We’ll have all the usual suspect available at the Hero booth including our gigposters, art prints, greeting cards, clothing and we’ll even have some new stuff, too! Check out the map below to see where the Hero booth will be located and then come by and say “HI!”
The Renegade Craft Fair returns to Los Angeles State Historic Park on July 16 + 17, 2011, from 11am – 7pm for our 3rd Annual Los Angeles Fair!! Check out LA’s greatest outdoor marketplace for handmade goods, featuring over 200 artists! The Renegade Craft Fair is always free-to-attend! Attendees can get involved with our hands-on crafting activities, check out our bar for some cold libations, and purchase food from terrific LA food trucks!
At the Fair, attendees can get crafty by participating in a number of interactive workshops, and find inspiration from local independent businesses who keep the city of angels in the loop with all-things creative!
Power and Light Press will be making a stop at the Fair on their Moveable Type Letterpress Tour. Attendees can browse art inside the studio truck, and try their hand at printing the old fashioned way to make a letterpress print of their very own!
Attendees of all ages can join the Professor Pincushion team at the Fair to craft a simple apple cozy. While crafting, visitors can learn about other great sewing videos offered at Professor Pincushion’s online tutorial website.
Swap-o-rama-rama will return to the Fair on Saturday for an afternoon of clothing modification fun from 12-5pm! Using sewing machines and screen printing stations, visitors can make a unique piece from a collection of clothes, or adapt clothing they already own with the help of local artists. Admittance to the Swap will be $5 with a bag of clothes, and $10 without.
Sew L.A. will be back at the Fair spreading their DIY love and helping eager crafters construct bracelets, headbands, zippered coin purses and more. Attendees can also browse merchandise and sign up for sewing classes held at the Silver Lake location.
The Urban Craft Center will return to the Fair with their RV in tow, bringing with them exciting workshops for modern crafters of all ages! Sign-ups for classes and arts & crafts supplies will be available for purchase as well.
Side Street Projects will wheel their craftiness into the park and assist attendees with recycled planter crafts, while giving tours of their school-bus-turned-crafting-center. In depth workshops will also be provided for a small donation.
The folks from the world’s largest independent record store, Amoeba Music, and our friends from KXLU 88.9FM will be on hand, providing weekend fair-goers with their shopping & crafting soundtrack.
Second Acts Animal Rescue will be on-site as well, educating attendees on animal adoption, and raising funds for their four-legged friends.
Not to be missed is a curated selection of artist’s wares from the Renegade Handmade Store (www.renegadehandmade.com), given away via numerous free raffles taking place over the course of the weekend.
Attendees can also commemorate their trip to The Renegade Craft Fair by visiting the free photo booth provided by The Magnolia Photo Booth Co., or relive their youth at the Fair’s free Friendship Bracelet Making Booth provided by The Renegade Gang!
An assortment of local food trucks will be on-site providing attendees with tasty treats, including several vegetarian options, and beer & wine will be available for purchase as well!
