Hero Scratch and Dent Poster Sale – Black Friday 11/25 at WNYBAC

Hello – Buffalo friends!! Hero is having our first ever scratch and dent sale since closing the doors to our own boutique back in April! We are super excited to bring back the magical piles of misprinted and castoff prints that didn’t make it to the signed editions – this time at the Western New York Book Arts Center on Black Friday! Whether it be from a misplaced inky fingerprint, a dinged edge or we just overprinted by way too many – these misfit posters made it to the scratch and dent piles and they are available for as little as $5 each! Many of you have come to our sales in the past and you know how epic they are! This time around we will also have a couple of racks with other sale prints. In addition, WNYBAC will have some of their very own scratch and dent posters available, as well!

The sale is next Friday – November 25th, BLACK FRIDAY, from 12pm-6pm at the Western New York Book Arts Center, at the corner of Washington Street and Mohawk Place in Downtown Buffalo. Hope to see some of you there. You can read more about the event here.

WHAT IS A “SCRATCH AND DENT” POSTER?

All of our posters are limited edition and hand silkscreen printed, in our Buffalo-based studio. Whenever we print a poster we have to overerun by at least 10% to account for mistakes in printing.

The scratch and dent posters we offer at a super discounted rate are either some of the overrun extras that were perfect but didn’t make it to the signed and numbered edition or they are posters that were too damaged to be included in the edition and sold at full price. For example, there could be a fingerprint of ink, the color was off or it may have a dinged corner or a tear.

Some of these posters have been sold out for a very long time and these are the only remaining copies that are available for sale, ever.
